Prism talk at WPF Bootcamp

Some months ago I delivered a talk on "Prism' at the WPF Bootcamp. The talk gives a good overview of why we are doing this work. At the time of this demo it was very early, before we even started on the RI work. It does give a good idea of where we are heading, and what is different about this work from what we've delivered in the past.

I also get to do a bit of coverage of different design patterns including those that play out specifically around WPF, how we are pushing Composition vs Inheritance. Finally, I talk about what we are doing to support different OS alternatives like Castle Windsor, etc.

I want to thank Karsten Januszewski for inviting me to the event. I got a chance to have some great customer interactions and talk to some tried and true CAB customers. At the same time, I think much of content was probably a bit heavy and I am known for erring on the side of MORE information not less.

Great presentation, but is it just me or is the implementation of Silverlight absolute rubbish on that page? The video kept pausing even though it had buffered quiet a long way and it didn't even cache the video when I accidentally navigated away from the page.

About Glenn Block

Glenn is a PM for the new Managed Extensibility Framework in .NET 4.0. Prior to Microsoft, he worked for 10 years in various startups and ISVs wearing many different hats all related to developing software. Glenn has been writing code practically since the time he learned how to ride a bicycle. When he's not writing code, he's continuously improving on ways to build better software. Glenn is a geek at heart and spends a good portion of the rest of this time spreading that geekdom through conferences, and the community through groups such as ALT.NET. When he's not working and playing with technology, he spends his time with his wife and four year old daughter either at their Seattle apartment or at one of the local coffee shops.
